I am going to make a comment on one aspect of the article, there are plenty more worth commenting on.
One problem the right has, is they do not want to own up to the mistakes they made. But, they want to hurry up and have someone else pick up their mess. And, when it doesn't happen as fast as they like, they say it has to happen faster because of the impatient American people. Ok, it took 8 years to get us here, and it SHOULD only take us 8 months to get us out?
Ok, what happend with the "stay the course" mentality? It apparently only pertained to the last administration, and went out the window when the last president left Washington.
The last administration is responsible for a money suck of a war because of what? WMD? Do you think maybe that is where some of this gawd-awful deficit / debt came from? Of course not! It was all Obama's fault, even before he ran for office it was his fault. Funny how the rights memory has faded.
Bush sold enough people a war that was not necessary, spent billions on it and then left the whole gosh-dog mess for someone else to pick up. In the mean time, there was no checks and balances in the financial sector and they kept up business as usual. Then, OMG! How did this happen? Don't forget that a Republican administration let this happen to us. It was also the Republican administration that passed the first stimulus package adding another $700 Billion to an insanely high debt. Keep handing money to the rich. That will solve all our problems. I don't know about you, but I am still waiting for the trickle down effect.
Maybe we do really need nationalized heath care so all those with the memory loss problems can go get checked for dementia.
As it was and is with the Scots and the Irish - Plaid is simply a way of life.
Hopefully one of your stops on the web for news, economics, links, geo/current politics, commentary, for the conscientious conservative. Progressives/liberals of course welcome and encouraged - a good bit of cognitive dissonance and search for clarity never killed anybody.
I'm an average guy(Carpenter with a lot of opinions)with above average interest in politics, public and foreign policy, economics, new media, faith/Christianity. I'm a skeptical optimist with a reasoned, inquisitive, conservative, realist worldview. I'm certain that my conservative world view was cast at a very young age...I had my mother on the side that was saving human babies from abortion, while on the other hand I had an older sister on the ideological side preoccupied with saving the whales. Some situations when you are young seem complex and difficult to wrap your brain around - this one was not. These conundrums and conflicts in my young life molded me; and time after time confirmed to me that it's crucial that we know-to the best of our abilities- what is right and wrong, and what is good and what is evil.
