Not oblivious to his disconnect with the troops he is CINC of... Obama attempts some humor in his usual tone-deaf manner. These troops know better; they know he's a ditherer on the matters they know best - Afghanistan primarily. They also pay attention to the news, and know their CINC just recently was the only world leader to give the Emperor of Japan a deep bow in greeting...Mr. President, you can fool some of them some of the time...

...Seems it is a one-way street with the MSM; Conservatives only!
The pathology of fact-checking Sarah Palin here.
The new, and uninstinctual(for MSM) idea of fact-checking Barack Obama's books(Dreams From My Father) here.

It's not complicated. The average American wants the news - all it can get- as raw as it can get it...this is exactly what Foxnews, Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, et al, are providing -- unfiltered, up to the minute(if you choose) real, raw...this is what New Media provides, so long as there is a venue to show it to the people...hence, the ever-growing domination of Foxnews in the cable networks. Folks are witnessing for themselves, the devolution of liberalism before their eyes, and more importantly...in their own lives.
I'll repeat a phrase I read some where: The New Media(internet, blogs, talk radio, etc...) is having the same effect on liberalism everywhere, as the fax machine had on the fall of communism... the capabilities of truth can be/are being delivered to every and anyone in real time.
Facts are stubborn things, that's why MSNBC is at the bottom of the ratings ;)

3. Update III:
Bummer. No trifecta. (D) Bill Owens won New York Congressional seat.
Overall, great news for Republicans last night. The sweep in Virginia is huge!
Gay marriage failed to pass in the ballot box in Maine.

Here is the video where Obama uses the Post Office as an example of why the public option won’t hurt private competitors. His argument is that Fed Ex and UPS thrive even though there’s a Post Office. He forgets to mention that the Post Office has a legal monopoly on first class mail and still loses money. And he forgets that the struggles of the Post Office make it harder to claim that the public option will stand on its own without taxpayer support.
If you want to understand how the public option will work, look at GM. It’s exists right now because it is being subsidized out of my pocket and yours. It is being run as a political organization, not just a company trying to make good products and cover its costs. And it is hurting its competitors, Ford, and others, whose success is being reduced by an artificially enhanced competitor.
